Dr. Dana Lis, PhD, RD, CPT, IOC Dip Sport Nutr.
Dr. Dana Lis is an internationally recognized sport dietitian with 17 years of experience in elite sport. Dr. Lis is a research affiliate with University of California Davis and in her 6th season as the lead consulting dietitian for the Golden State Warriors. Dana completed her bachelor's degree & dietetic internship in Nutrition and Dietetics from University of British Columbia. She is also a graduate of the prestigious IOC Diploma in Sport Nutrition. Her PhD was completed at the University of Tasmania and her research was in exercise gastroenterology, specifically the athlete’s gut, leading to the development of FODMAP strategies for managing exercise-induced gastrointestinal syndrome. Her Post Doctoral Studies were completed at University of California Davis (Dr. Keith Baar Lab) focused on nutritional interventions to enhance collagen tissue synthesis.
In her 17 years as a practitioner, Dr. Lis has worked within the MLS (Whitecaps and RedBulls), NBA (Kings and Warriors), USA Cycling, Europe World Tour Pro Cycling Teams and Canadian National Winter sport teams, Swimming & Cycling. As a researcher, she has published 14 scientific publications and continues to collaborate with the international sport nutrition community and lead research in the field.
Dr. Dana Lis is internationally recognized for her leadership and versatile roles across the field of Performance Nutrition. Aside from being one of the few Registered Dietitians decorate with the renowned IOC Diploma in Sport Nutrition and PhD, she seamlessly aligns the three key elements shaping the field of Performance Nutrition: Practice, Research and Industry. Her expertise in these pillars has lead advancement of the field.
